Energy and Climate Change Community Engagement Sessions – Métis Nation of Alberta
Locations: In-person and online (see below for more details)
Do you work in the energy sector or have thoughts about the transition away from fossil fuels? All Citizens of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government are welcome for conversation about where our energy comes from, the changing climate and how we advocate for Métis needs.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Dotmocracy Booths are coming to Edmonton Alberta!!
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED
We invite you to join us for any or all of these events. Feel free to attend as many as you’d like! No registration is required! Just show up, and our facilitators will be ready to welcome you!
The 2025–2026 Edmonton Dotmocracy Project is the next step in our community engagement process. From 2022 to 2025, we hosted Nine Community Talks across Edmonton, Alberta, where residents shared their insights on extreme weather, local economic opportunities, and potential energy solutions. Now, we are inviting you to help validate and refine those community-identified priorities.
Dotmocracy Booths are interactive spaces where you can vote on key community statements developed directly from our session findings. These booths are designed to confirm whether earlier insights still reflect current perspectives and to ensure community voices remain central to the process.
To make the experience welcoming, we are offering giveaways such as recycled-material tumblers, hats, and Biolite lanterns for participating community members. Families are encouraged to attend. Children will find a playful and inclusive space with coloring books, crayons, and stickers.
We are also sharing two-page summaries of each Community Talk session. These concise documents highlight the ideas, concerns, and perspectives raised by participants.
The goal is simple. We are creating a space where your voice matters and where community-driven solutions take center stage.
Changes in our economic, social, and environmental landscape are impacting people in Canada across all walks of life. Join us as we bring together community members to talk about your ideas and solutions for community development and diversification.
